President Steven Weitzen presented a check to Vanessa Barrelet for her charity, "Hands United 4 Children" that focuses on supporting African children in distress. The money was the prize for the "runner-up" of the DMSB Rotary Bocce tournament this past Sunday. He was so impressed with 11-year old Vanessa singing of the national anthem in front of the Camp Pendleton 1st Regiment Color Guard to open the tournament he returned his winnings in the for of a donation in her name to her charity!

Hands United for Children was founded in San Diego in 2006 as a non-profit organization intent on serving the needs of underprivileged children. Our current mission, to support children in distressed situations through education, shelter, health and individual welfare, is being realized in Africa and in the United States. http://www.handsunited4children.org/
