Sharing is Caring couldn't ring more true for blood donors. Ray Wilson educated our club about the organizational structure and reach of the San Diego Blood Bank. He also brought us up to date on new collection opportunities like "Doubles" for larger individuals that can spare more than the minimum amount and "Platelets" which are harvested using a special machine. Apheresis for platelet collection is a medical procedure where a machine separates blood components, allowing for the selective extraction of platelets from a donor's blood while returning the remaining blood components back to the donor.
San Diego Blood Bank relies on organizations like ours to help it meet the needs of young patients at Rady's Childrens Hospital and other locations where it's needed. You can help by registering for our Rotary Blood Drive.

1:00- 3;00 Check in Donors and take down the Tent and Signs.
