DMSB ROTARY WELCOMES GUEST SPEAKER PHIL BLAIR, A TITAN OF SAN DIEGO BUSINESS. It was an honor to have Phil Blair as a guest speaker on our weekly Friday morning meeting! For those who would like to know more; Phil Blair is a longtime San Diego business leader who, along with partner Mel Katz, joined forces in 1977 to build Manpower West into the largest Manpower franchise in the United States. Under their leadership, the firm grew into San Diego's fourth-largest local for-profit employer, providing roughly 2,500 jobs daily across six countywide branches, with annual revenues exceeding $125 million. Beyond his role at Manpower, Blair is a widely quoted employment expert who appears regularly on local and national business media, and works as a professional speaker and career coach on employment and workforce trends. He's also the author of an Amazon bestseller on career strategy, and he's deeply embedded in San Diego civic life, having served on the boards of organizations like the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, the San Diego Tourism Authority, the Workforce Partnership, and the Economic Development Corporation, among others.
